China Vision

HKU is one of the first universities in Hong Kong to offer academic exchange opportunities in Mainland China. With the support of a dedicated fund from the Central Government, “HKU-China 1,000 Exchange Programme” was set up in 2012 to offer such exchange opportunities for tertiary students. “China Vision” was later launched in 2015, giving undergraduate students another channel through which they can gain study experience in Mainland China.

Shanghai Study Centre (SSC)

Established in 2008, the HKU Shanghai Study Centre (SSC) is located in the historic Post Office Building adjacent to Suzhou Creek.

As part of the University’s ongoing initiative to expand its teaching and learning efforts beyond Hong Kong, SSC serves as a platform for faculties to develop academic programmes and knowledge exchange activities in Mainland China. In addition to academic courses, SSC also holds regular conferences, exhibitions, seminars and lectures that enable HKU students to gain insights into China’s urban development.

SSC also helps the HKU community (including students, teaching staff, alumni and partners) to build closer ties and expand their networks with their Mainland peers.
